Board-certified Or Residency-trained Small Animal Surgeon

Awake Djursjukhus, Stockholm, Sweden

Wanna spend a year (or more) in Stockholm?

This summer something big is happening in Sweden. (Yes, Sweden. Northern light, vikings, elk and amazing people). In central Stockholm a group of veterinary professionals and entrepreneurs are doing something very unswedish by opening a 24 hour ER and Specialty Veterinary Hospital.
Did you ever think "one day I'm going to do something wild"? That day is now! We'll help get you on your way to (according to Roger Moore, aka James Bond) the most beautiful city in the world. Our department of agriculture does however seem to think non-European vets are villains, so having a European vet-license will be very advantageous.

Ok, so let’s slow down and take this from the beginning (and the way you might be used to in conventional advertisement-forums).

AWAKE Veterinary Specialty Hospital is a brand new, state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital in beautiful Stockholm.
We are seeking a board-certified or residency trained Surgeon to join our rapidly growing team (or provide locum coverage preferably from July 2021 and until retirement…).
If you have a fabulous oncology- internist- or radiology-buddy, they may come with since we intend to continue our growth.

AWAKE Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a staff-owned start-up, committed to providing cutting-edge medicine to our community while maintaining a close-knit family dynamic. We prefer collaboration to competition, and see ourself as the continuation of the local family vet. We will open in July 2021.

We are the first ER/Specialty Veterinary Hospital in Scandinavia and everything is (for us) new; Our concept, the team, the venue and of course the equipment.  We are fully equipped for endoscopy (gastro, broncho, rhino, cysto…), radiology (Siemens Somatom Perspective 128 slice CT, GE Logiq E10 US and Fujji FDR Smart X x-ray) and Arthrex arthroscopy and laparoscopy.

Our team members range from being locals to representing >8 countries around the world. We are passionate about diversity, equality and sustainibility, and believe in knowledge exchange across all borders.

Like most other hospitals we offer competitive salary • Opportunity for equity ownership • Health benefits • No overnights • 4-day work-week • Paid time off • 5-week vacation/year •  CE allowance

What we in addition can add to the pot is the unique balance of medical career, entrepreneurship and quality of life. Our staff range from living in the heart of sizzling downtown Stockholm to the retreats of beautiful countryside only 30 minutes away.

If you are looking for a change and would like to experience a new country while getting paid for it, this opportunity might be for you.

Obviously you’re an adventurous person; you did after all read this far.
